Many people are unsure of which products they need and what options are available for their home improvement projects. Creative Windows provides the following images and descriptions to assist consumers with their decision-making processes.

Soffit

Soffit: Soffit is defined as an underside of any architectural feature such as a porch, arch, or eave. In many cases soffit is used to assist in the ventilation of the attic of a home. However, there are homes that have solid soffit with no ventilation. This depends on the style of the home, the age and the other ventilation used. The purpose of putting vinyl soffit over your wood soffit is to protect it from rotting and to increase ventilation.

Trim

Trim: In exterior home remodeling the term trim is used to describe the wood accents and supports around your home. These could be Rake boards (angled pieces of wood), Fascia (wood that gutters are attached to), Frieze board (any decorative band on an outside wall) or even soffit. In most cases any piece of wood on your home can be covered with PVC coated Aluminum to protect it from the elements and ever having to paint it again.

Siding

Siding: Is any weatherproofing material designed to give the exterior of the home a protective barrier from the elements. There are many different types of siding; there is Vinyl, Fiber Cement, Wood, and Aluminum. The latter two are both dying technologies as they are not maintenance free and they do not handle full weather exposure very well.

Gutters & Downspouts

Gutters and Downspouts: At Creative Windows we offer two different types of gutter systems. The first is a 5” gutter system with 2x3 downspouts. The second is a 6” gutter system with 3x4 downspouts.
