Many people are unsure of which products they need and what options are available for their home improvement projects. Creative Windows provides the following images and descriptions to assist consumers with their decision-making processes.

Two-part Slider

Two-Part Slider: This window’s sashes operate from left to right or vice versa. The 2-part was designed for a window space that is longer or equal to the height of the window. It has been described as a Double Hung window on it’s side. These windows can come with either ½ screens or full.

Awning

Awning: The awning window is a crank out window that is hinged at the top of the unit and it opens to the outside of the home. It seals very similarly to a casement window and is great for outdoor porches and basements to provide ventilation in lower or higher openings. These windows will have a full screen.

Casement

Casement: A casement window is a crank out window that opens like a door, it swings out to 90 degrees. It is hinged approximately 4 inches from the corner of the window so as to allow for cleaning from the inside of the home. These can be hinged from the left or right side of the window. This window is used in many different applications; over a kitchen sink, bay windows, or any other opening in the home that needs to have clean sight lines or easy opening. These windows will have a full screen.

Double Hung

Double Hung: This window is your “traditional window” both the top and bottom sashes operate. In most cases these windows also tilt in for cleaning purposes. These types of windows are the most common style used in homes. There are single hung windows in some homes however they are mostly in New Construction applications, those windows the top sash does not operate. These windows come with either ½ or full screens.

Garden Window

Garden: A garden window is a window designed to create an area for plants to sit in and gain sunlight. These windows have a fixed face but the two sides are operable casement windows. Unlike bay windows the seat of a garden window is not designed for a person to sit on.

Bay/Bow Window: A Bay or Bow window is a single window unit that is protruding from a wall of the house. These units normally have 2 operating windows along with the others that are fixed. These units also have either cable or knee supports with seat boards that have many options.

Special shapes

Special Shapes: These windows are all fixed pane windows, they very in shapes and sizes and can be adapted to most sizes that are needed. Some of the different types of shapes are, Circle Top (looks like a ½ circle), Circle Top w/ Extended Legs (Circle Top with a rectangular bottom), Triangle, Octagon, Hexagon, Oval, and Trapezoid.
